Missing Insulin Turns Up At Houston Medical Center

Drug maker Novo Nordisk have released a statement to the effect that some insulin that had been stolen, has turned up at a medical center in Houston
Boston (HealthKnowItAll) - Drug maker Novo Nordisk have released a statement to the effect that some insulin that had been stolen, has turned up at a medical center in Houston.

The insulin was stolen about 4 months ago after it was shipped from the Novo Nordisk facility in Clayton, North Carolina, and the hunt for it has been on ever since.

In all, 3 lots of insulin was taken, the equivalent to 128,000 10-milliliter vials.

According to spokesman Sean Clements the insulin turned up at an undisclosed Houston medical center, and other details as to how it got there are not being released.

Insulin is prescribed to diabetes patients, because their pancreas is unable to produce it, a biological function necessary for the body to regulate blood sugar levels.

Novo Nordisk is the world’s biggest provider of sinthetic insulin, shipping product to countries including; North America, Europe, China, New Zealand and Australia.
