Prostate cancer is the most common type of cancer in American men, effecting an estimated 1 in 6.

The virus was thought only to be present in animals, putting them at risk of cancer but according to study results the virus, called XMRV can also be present in men.

For their study the researchers compared tissue data from prostates that were infected with cancer, to those who were not.

They discovered that in more than a few of the cancerous prostate tissue samples the virus was present.

“We found that XMRV was present in 27% of prostate cancers we examined and that it was associated with more aggressive tumors,” researcher Ila R. Singh, MD, PhD, associate professor of pathology at the University of Utah, says in a news release.

The study can be found in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

Stem cell therapy is very controversial because many view it as being unethical.

After a heart attack, the heart muscle does not repair itself, meaning that it is often damaged for ever.

Although the growth factor worked to regenerate heart tissue in mice, the researchers do not know if similar results would be present in humans.

When mice with damaged heart muscle were injected with the growth factor, their hearts improved in pumping, and overall heart health increased significantly.

“To my knowledge, this is the first regenerative therapy that may be applicable in a systemic way,” said Bernhard Kuhn of Children’s Hospital Boston and Harvard Medical School.

The study is published in the July 24 issue of Cell.

To make this possible, the teams of scientists took regular skin cells from mice, and worked with them to coax them to turn into embryonic stem cells.

They were then able to work with the embryonic cells, to produce living baby mice pups.

If this act can be duplicated and mastered, it would mean that the use of embryos for stem cell research could be avoided altogether, which would be great news for those who are against the practice.

“We are confident that tremendous good can come from demonstrating the versatility of reprogrammed cells in mice, and this research will be used to … understand the root causes of disease and lead to viable treatments and cures of human afflictions,” said Fanyi Zeng of the Shanghai Institute of Medical Genetics.

Stem cells are found in the body and can be used to treat a variety of medical conditions ranging from spinal cord injuries to certain eye conditions.

The two studies are published in the journals Nature and Cell Stem Cell.

Researchers of a new study say that green tea may actually help slow down the rate at which tumors of the prostate grow.

They reached this finding following a study of men all between 40 and 70 years of age, all of whom diagnosed with prostate cancer.

Half of the men were given pills containing a compound found in green tea called Polyphenon, and others were given a plecebo pill.

After 4 weeks of follow-up, the researchers noted that the group who had been taking the compound daily had slower prostate tumor growth than those participants who took placebo pills.

Green tea is a very healthy drink, a fact that has been proven in many studies performed previous to this one.

The drink is very popular on the Asian continent, and has been proven to reduce risk of heart disease and stroke.

He died on Sunday after a 4 year battle with a type of cancer called non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

Bogle stopped playing with the band 4 years ago, to concentrate on fighting his cancer.

The band, is one of the most successful rock instrumental groups of all time, scoring 60’s smash hits including “Walk, Don’t Run” and “Hawaii Five-O.”

Study results from 2003, suggested that a person was more likely to develop depression if they had a genetic variant and were exposed to numerous stressful events.

Since that time, researchers have been trying to validate the study findings, but have not been able to do so.

The initial study found that stressful events triggered a genetic variant to modify the production of the hormone serotonin in the brain of effected people.

Writing in the Journal of the American Medical Association, researchers debunk the theory by analyzing data from 14 previously performed studies that were performed on people with depression.

They were unable to find a link between depression and the serotonin transporter gene, and also found no link between the gene and one’s stress level.

Psoriasis is a very nasty skin condition that is characterized by plaque build up on the skin resulting in a blotchy appearance.

Researchers compared medical data from more than 3000 people with the skin condition, to more than 2500 people who did not have it.

Those with psoriasis were found to be 78% more likely to have a heart attack, a 70% increased risk of a stroke and a 90% increased risk of developing blocked arteries.

The researchers believe the link between the skin condition and poor heart health is related to chronic inflammation which is associated with psoriasis.

The study can be found in the June issue of the Archives of Dermatology.

She stopped responding to the medication a while ago and has since been released from hospital to her home, where she is currently residing.

Fawcett, 62, was diagnosed with anal cancer 3 years ago, and since then has waged a heroic fight with the disease.

She was the centerpiece of a documentary, “Farrah’s Story” in which she chronicled her ongoing battle with the disease.

She has subsequently lost the strength to eat, and was up until a few days ago being nurrished solely from an IV in her arm.

Her condition is said to be improving, with her eating a steak from her favorite restaurant last week, and having the strength to sit up in bed.

Toxic shock syndrome is usually associated with tampon use, and up until now has been overlooked in children because of its rarity.

Toxic shock syndrome occurs when bacteria infects a body part and enters into the blood stream. If it is not treated right away it can be fatal.

According to lead study author Kenny Chan, MD, chief of pediatric otolaryngology at The Children’s Hospital and professor of otolaryngology at the University of Colorado, children with sinus infections are indeed at risk of developing the potentially fatal condition.

In their study, the researchers analyzed data from more than 75 children diagnosed with toxic shock syndrome.

They noted that 23 of the children at time of their diagnosis, also had a form of rhinosinusitis, known as a type of sinus infection.

Symptoms of toxic shock syndrome include; fever, rash, diarrhea, muscle pain and organ failure.
