The nationwide salmonella outbreak is having an extremely negative impact on the sale of peanut butter products.<br /> ....Washington (HealthKnowItAll) - The nationwide salmonella outbreak is having an extremely negative impact on the sale of peanut butter products.

The outbreak, which has sickened 600 people in the U.S. and Canada, is believed to have originated from the Blakely, Georgia plant of the Peanut Corporation of America.

This is harming peanut butter sales though even beyond that company.

Tracking has revealed that peanut butter sales have dropped by over 20% for companies sucha s Peter Pan, Jif, Skippy, and others since the outbreak began.

There have been recalls of around 1,800 products from a variety of companies since the outbreak began.
