Health officials in the country of Mexico are urging people to stay at home to decrease their risk of contracting swine flu
Boston (HealthKnowItAll) - Health officials in the country of Mexico are urging people to stay at home to decrease their risk of contracting swine flu.

Swine flu has killed more than 150 people in Mexico, and has now spread to other countries including Canada, the U.S., and the UK.

The World Health Organization has raised their warning to a 5, one shy of pandemic warning based on the sudden severe outbreak of the virus.

Yesterday, the U.S. reported their first death from the virus, and overall more than 50 cases have been reported on American soil.

Barack Obama is even getting in on the act, advising Americans to take all precautions, by washing their hands, covering their mouths when they cough and staying home if they are sick.

Drug makers around the globe are now turning their sites onto the creation of a swine flu vaccine, a fact that they say will reduce their ability to produce seasonal flu vaccine.
