Professional Sex Worker Tests Positive For HIV

Calif (HealthKnowItAll) - It is being reported that a porn actress from the state of California, tested positive for the HIV virus on June 4th of this year. The name of the female actress is being withheld for confidential reasons by the clinic where the test was performed and all her intimate partners have been notified of her positive status.

The last such incident involving a porn star testing positive for HIV was made public in 2004, when a male porn star infected 3 other of his work colleagues with the virus. It is law that all porn workers use condoms when applicable and it is obviously the case in this recent incident that law was not followed.

According to Los Angeles County health officials they have uncovered an additional 16 cases of HIV reported in porn stars as of late, bringing the total number of porn stars to be diagnosed with HIV over the last 5 years to an astounding 22.

When it comes to identifying the female sex worker who tested positive for the virus, the clinic who performed the test, is keeping quiet, a fact that makes a lot of people very unhappy: “You’d think they’d want to be a full partner in trying to prevent the spread of this disease,” said Dr. Jonathan Fielding, health officer for Los Angeles County.
