Female Sex Performer Tests Positive for HIV

Boston (HealthKnowItAll) - Last week it was revealed that a porn star from southern California had tested positive for the HIV virus.

This is a major blow to the porn industry and has opened the door to a can of worms pertaining to laws governing the industry across the state.

Porn stars are required by law to wear condoms when engaging in intimate activity for the camera, a law that appears to have been broken in this case.

The identity of the female performer is being kept confidential, but we have learned that she did work after finding out her positive status, but not reporting it.

Back in 2004, a similar incident was made public when a male porn actor named Darren James tested positive for the HIV virus.

“I feel really bad for this girl,” he said. “One thing I can say, I just wish her well. It’s the worst thing to get that call.”

Los Angeles health officials have announced plans to investigate the incident, because it appears that a state law was broken which may have contributed to the transmission of the HIV virus by the actress.
