Getting Pregnant Within 6 Months Of Miscarriage Is Best

pregnant_miscarriage_time Boston (HealthKnowItAll) - According to a new study released this week, it is best for women to get pregnant again within 6 months of having a miscarriage if they hope to have a successful full-term pregnancy.

This new study was led by Dr. Sohinee Bhattacharya from Aberdeen Maternity Hospital and focused on about 30,000 different women who all suffered a miscarriage.

The hope coming into the study was that researchers would be able to see what the right timeframe was for women in regards to how long they should wait before getting pregnant again after a miscarriage.

Miscarriages are tough and in a lot of cases they detract women from trying again right after in terms of getting pregnant again.

This new study though, which followed women from 1981 to the year 2000, found that getting pregnant again sooner rather than later is best.

Women who got pregnant again within 6 months of a miscarriage had a success rate in terms of their pregnancy at 85%, compared to 73% for women who waited over 2-years.

This shows women should get pregnant soon following a miscarriage.

The study was published in the British Medical Journal.
