A new study suggests that breast cancer patients taking antidepressants can be at increased risk of their tumors coming back.

Doctors involved in the study say that breast cancer patients taking tamoxifen to fend off breast cancer from recurring are at risk if they take antidepressants.

The theory here is, that certain types of antidepressants such as Prozac and Paxil may actually interfeer with how tamoxifen works in the body.

Researchers insist that patients should talk to their doctors because not all antidepressant drugs seem to interfeer with breast cancer drugs.

The study was conducted by researchers from Medco Health and presented on the weekend at a cancer conference in Florida.
