FDA Creates Task Force To Increase Transparency

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have announced plans to come up with ways of being more open with the American public.
The FDA is responsible for the safety of Americans when it comes to food, drugs and any type of medical device, but rarely discloses their inner workings as an agency.
They have announced the creation of a new task force headed by FDA Principal Deputy Commissioner Dr. Joshua Sharfstein which has been given the mission of coming up with ways of making the agency more transparent.
“This is an agency-wide effort to try and figure out how to make FDA and its processes more transparent to the public,” said the new FDA Commissioner Dr. Margaret A Hamburg.
First order of business for the new task force is to hold 2 private meetings for citizens to come and voice any type of concerns they might have with the FDA.
The task force has up until November to submit their findings to the FDA, but after that, who knows how long it will take before anything is done based on their findings.
