Boston (HealthKnowItAll) - The nationwide outbreak of salmonella linked to peanut butter continues to spread.

More than 200 different brands of food products have been recalled now but cases of salmonella are still being reported.

Peanut Corporation of America have been identified as the source of the outbreak of salmonella, and have closed 2 of their operating plants so far as a result.

Since the outbreak was first reported, more than 600 salmonella cases have been reported and more than 9 deaths.

Salmonella poisoning is very serious, and can sometimes be fatal.

Symptoms of salmonella poisoning include diarrhea, vomiting, fatigue, stomach cramps and head ache.
