The plant in question, is the Setton Pistachio of Terra Bella, Inc., which is the second largest processor of pistachios in America.
a nation wide recall of the type of nut had already been initiated, when cases of salmonella bacteria poisoning started to be reported in people who had one thing in common, they had eaten pistachios.
The plant has been temporarily shut down while officials continue to investigate, and workers perform cleaning operations.
More than 2 million pounds of nuts were recalled last week, making this one of the biggest nut recalls in history.
