Veggie Atkins Diet Maybe Next Weight Loss Fad

Results of a new study suggest that a vegetarian version of the popular Atkins diet maybe the next big thing when it comes to weight loss.

According to researchers, the veggie version of the diet promoted a reduction in bad levels of cholesterol, blood pressure, as well as promoted weight loss.

The study pitted 22 overweight participants who followed the veggie Atkins diet, compared with a group who did not.

The original form of the diet is one that promotes the eating of protein, but really clamps down when it comes to daily carb intake.

This version of the diet would be beneficial for vegetarians looking to lose weight, due to the fact that the regular Atkins diet promotes the consumption of meat as a source of protein.

Both groups of study participants lost weight throughout the study, and the Atkins group also showed a reduction in their bad levels of cholesterol.
